Ruins of the Gothic church
The relics of St. Nicholas Gothic church, built at the turn of the XIV and XV centuries. The temple, constructed initially about 1.8-2 km from the coast in the middle of the village, was destroyed by abrasive processes. The only preserved part of the church is the southern wall located at the top of the cliff. Several legends exist connected with the taking away of successive parts of the church by the sea. One of them tells the story of Zielenica - the sea-goddess - who was accidentally caught by fishermen and imprisoned by the local parish priest. Zielenica soon died of longing and was buried in the church cemetery. Since then, her father (Baltic) has sent wave after wave to retrieve his daughter's body and transfer it to its rightful place - the bottom of the sea.

Rewal whales
Visitors to Rewal often wonder about the connection between the resort and whales, which do not inhabit the Baltic Sea. Indeed, it is not their natural habitat, but these marine mammals have been sighted in the Baltic Sea over the centuries on several occasions. For this reason, it is assumed that the Reval legend may be a more or less coloured description of an actual event. The sculptures are two colossi weighing 10 and 5 tons, with the Latin names: Ventus and Fluctus, meaning Wind and Wave. They are located in the central section of the new square, paved with granite slabs. In the square, one can also find a fountain whose waters are illuminated after dusk. This site and the nearby observation deck make up the centre of Rewal.

The lake is separated from the Baltic Sea by a spit of width 400 to 1200 metres. The towns of Niechorze and Pogorzelica located directly on the lake have access to the sea, including the village of Skalno in the south. The lake, however, belongs entirely to the geodesic district of Niechorze.
